Has anyone heard if the Mayor’s invitation to the Welsh Squad has had a reply?
Listening & watching the TV at the moment I feel so disappointed that not one person has mentioned the birthplace of the Football Association of Wales. Not one person has mentioned that the town where the Welsh FA was born has the oldest international football stadium in the world in the same town. In fact nobody has mentioned North Wales at all.
It has only taken Cardiff Council 36 hours to arrange the homecoming celebrations. We couldn’t even have a fanzone.
See the crowds – why is it only in the North of the Country that H & S is such a bit issue?
Sorry to disappoint but this is highly unlikely as the team are now due two weeks holiday before they start pre season training- the best we could hope for is part of the squad may be able to fit in with schedules.
Part funding for the event in Cardiff has come from the Welsh Government ‘large event fund’ and is not just the City Council. The Council also recognised their limitations and brought in a large event management company to handle the massive logistics.
It is such a pity this time — lets start planning for the World Cup instead!!

The Councillor, or whoever it was said on the TV yesterday morning that it had all been arranged in 36 hours.
