Gresford Church bells were also rung at 8.12 am. The later ringing at the Parish Church was for a wedding !!!

Wrexham’s Olympic events, the one on Llwyn Isaf and the other at the Aquaduct cost £5823. The lowest amount spent by any council in North Wales. The Aquaduct being a World Heritage Site gained plenty of publicity for Wrexham. Wrexham was also unique in being the only town to be mentioned by name during the Opening Ceremony.
Just for interest and comparison , Gwynedd spent a massive £96,000!
