Wrexham General -> Town = 5 mins walk
Bus Station -> Town = 1 min walk
Town -> Eagles Meadow = 2 min walkFor those who cannot walk all seem to have free bus passes anyway, with Eagles Meadow, Market Street, Tesco / Asda / Sainsburys each with their own bus stops.
Good riddance. £1,600 a month saved. :D

You mean 400 to 500 quid a month saved? And 60k wasted on road ‘improvements’.
I can tell you why there are losses.
The wrong route and poorly marked out bus stops.
I can tell you how they could have made it profitable with the route. They should have got a toytown train rather a bus and a history guide should have played inside the train.

SamParticipantSorry Wayne, most of your historical tour would of consisted of something like
“In 1992 the WCBC knocked down …….. and built ………., sadly it’s been vacant since 2010”.A lot of Wrexham’s soul has been lost to development instead of preserving our heritage.

agreed, especially about the council knocking down everything.
I was thinking subjects…
a) railway station, racecourse and glyndwr uni
b) the art college and also when it was a hospital, wrexham lager
c) argyle st and horse and jockey
d) parish church
e) former brewery
f) the site of the beast market and the odd executionThen on the trip back to railway station…
h) waffle about the town from the doomsday book onwards.
i) war memorial hospital
j) more waffle about the town from the doomsday book onwards.May 8, 2013 at 6:37 pm #60949
thewayneinspainParticipantJust noted those figures don’t add up..
if the costs are 1,600 quid, how does bob dutton make the costs to be 35k?
Also anyone remember that fat cat bob dutton got of 9.5k this year? Is he cost effective?

If he isn’t cost effective can we scrap him?

YES. Too old in his ways and out of date.

AlunhParticipantAgree with most comments. Many towns run successful services to link the component parts. Many of the end users are old or disabled. Accordingly, vehicles less daunting than a bus are vital. Other points about routes, times, etc vital as well as making it sexier with dialogue about the area.

Welsh DresserParticipantI would try it if it had a sound track. How about a flat rate charge of £1 no matter where you get on or off? It works abroad so why not in Wrexham.
