Thanks – so the contract is 85% Kingdom 15% Council – so the Council gained – so the Council over a year are only likely to make £68k according to my Grove Park calculator — if that is the case it is significantly less than the £200k that Conwy Council were making
Well it looks like Council Members a moving towards a contract termination with Kingdom — if you don’t want to take responsibility for your own actions the best form of defence is to create a committee who can then come up with the obvious solution but avoids any individual carrying the can.
The committee has been created to save the Lead Member from having to eat his own words and back peddle
It could be that officers were not commercially astute when signing the Kingdom contract and have actually been saddled with a termination clause that they cannot afford whilst other Councils could have negotiated different commercial terms.
Or as I have said before they needed a ‘working group’ to come up with a recommendation to terminate as it then does not fall on Bithell/Pritchard – they walk away hiding behind ‘the committee said’ we should terminate.
Kingdon is likely to pull out of the contract BEFORE the Council terminate- this normal business practice – it will also let Bithell and Pritchard off the hook for keeping this fiasco ongoing.
Is the supervisor on holiday or already knows the contract is coming to an end and has either been moved or jumped to another job.
