The government has now lost all credibility, the rules became a matter of interpretation for just some, there were heartbreaking stories over the last few weeks, all to follow the rules that Dominic Cummings failed to follow himself

Good Old Dominic, long may he reign. He had the good sense to make sure that he didn’t infect anyone outside his bubble. He didn’t take the tube or train and could be trusted to adhere to the spirit of the advice. If the lefties want to have a go at anyone, where were they when people were visiting pubs that had lock ins or the people who had parties and barbies. That is why you need the rules, for the stupid people. The intelligencia can be trusted to behave in a responsible and safe manner. The lefties, who have still to get over Brexit, must understand that as lefties they will never, ever have a say in intelligent government and have to be dictated to to ensure sensible behaviour. l

Gruesome gaslighting. No care at all for the tens of thousands who have died and the millions who have been doing the right thing for months to try and keep people and the NHS safe.

Derek you have probably hit the nail on the head with your assumption of Cummings being far too hot to handle for the Government- he’d take down the Government in one foul sweep – remember he has been present at all of the key meetings from before Conservatives even got into power.
He has been so close to the inner sanctum to know everything about what has been going on behind the scenes that he is explosive as a stick of dynamite.

How many of the failings during Covid have been due to his strategy or Boris doing his own thing – when the full Enquiry is undertaken into the Governments response (or at times lack of response) will be the occasion Boris needs Cummings on side or as a fall guy.

Cummings has the knowledge to make him untouchable by politicians – it also questions who is pulling the strings in Government – politicians or advisors.

If the country was not having to deal with the seriousness of Covid this could be running into a case of survival for Boris and even possible the Conservative Party — the rift is already starting with the backbenchers.

Boris did nothing on this evenings briefing to give confidence to the public in the lack of responses to questions which he would have known would have been coming- PR disaster

Nice to see Sarah Atherton and Simon Baynes very quiet on the issue of Dominic Cummings. At least 21 other Tory MPs have now called for his resignation and have been forced into dealing with furious constituents over the way Johnson has handled everything.

Of course no photo opportunity was presented and there was no heritage railway to be saved this weekend, so it seems they are uninterested.

They are also uninterested in confirming to the questions about whether local constituents should act within the law of where they live in, in regards to Coronavirus or if they should just in fact act on instinct and do whatever they see fit.

Vote the councillors out “ he had the good sense to make sure he did not infect anyone —- did not take the tube or train ,”

If he can travel 240 miles and back ( at least once ) without needing to top up with petrol , or electric charge – please inform me post haste where I can get this model of car !
Let’s presume they raided the larder and had a packed lunch – so no food stop. However if their 4 year old can last a 240 mile journey without a loo stop or two they don’t need childcare they should enrol him in Mensa and share their formula with consultant urologists and paediatricians ,
Therefore the likelihood is they needed services and there was a chance of these two infected people spreading the infection. Would it not have been simpler and less potentially contagious to bring the child carer to the child rather than the child and ( reportedly infected. ) parents to the grandparents?
