A report was released with papers for this week’s Council Executive that was not up for discussion as it was marked on the Executive agenda as:
    INFORMATION REPORTS
The following Information Reports have been circulated to Members since the last
    Meeting of the Executive Board:
 Income Generation and Cost Recovery 2016-17
     Winter Service
 Revised Proposals Report – 2018 Review of Parliamentary Constituencies in Wales

The “Income Generation and Cost Recovery 2016-17” shows what the financial outrun for 2016/17 proposals to generate income actually produced. Budgeted income of £817,331 yet only £155,520 generated!

The largest item on the list could have (assuming the officers who put this forward produced an accurate report) suggested that a new sickness policy for staff would generate income of £308,505.

Yet it did not progress due to “no support to take forward”
Line 22 Sickness Policy £308,505 0 BC (Business Case) not progressed: no support to take proposal forward

Surely at a time when the public is being asked to decide on services to be cut- the Council should give a full explanation why this did not progress.. seems a clear example of turkeys not wanting to vote for Christmas as this proposal could have affected all staff.

Anyone have any idea how this money would have been generated from a “sickness policy” ?

This does not seem right that residents are having cuts at a time when it looks like the Council staff are being protected. Does anyone know what the policy change was going to be that could have generated all the savings?

Protected!!! What planet are you from? Jobs have been lost right left and centre and Council employees haven’t had a salary increase for 8 years, How are they being protected?
Are the vast majority of them not residents too and subject to the same cuts that we all are?
I really do despair at the mindset of those with a me, me, me attitude.
