One of the key points missed in the news item is how much Public Funds were used to promote and run the Booze Bus! Surely funding should not be used to encourage more drinking (15 pubs with 50 varieties of Ale) and then provide the transport (even though people were paying). How much funding from the Council and Welsh Government went in sponsoring this drinking event?

Tell me you are joking? Real ale trails are hardly going to attract the likes of someone that gets ratted every night on bottles of white lightning and vodka and then queue to get in Whetherspoons as the doors open the next morning.
I think it’s great there are events like these to help advertise local pubs and get people to try new pubs that they might otherwise not get to. I believe the event was a great success, yes it had a couple of teething problems which will hopefully be ironed out next year but all in all people enjoyed it and the pubs did too.:D

The key issue I was raising was how much public funding went to promote the campaign event. I have no issue about specialist business being promoted and wish them well. The issue of large amounts being consumed is inevitable with people wanting to try as many different ales as they can– this does not however make them regular drunkards but there are still issues to visit all 15 why not do it over two or three occasions and reduce the number of ale options

The ‘key issue’ Dylan is your desire to make your ‘opinion'(?) known on every matter under the sun.
In your 359 posts to date, I can honestly say that I don’t think I have read a coherent argument on any topic.
Using a term taken from the Urban vernacular, might I say that you are once again, “chatting bubbles”.

Knowing how much each venue paid to be part of it I be surprised if it needed any public funding.

It’s a shame that some of those attending the Ale Trail made themselves look like fool with their behaviour when they couldn’t find the bus they needed. By which I mean running out in front of traffic at 2pm

I can’t wait to see the reply to this one.

Would have helped if the buses turned up when they were meant to, if indeed the buses turned up to the some of the venues at all. Mass confusion all round.

    Ditto

Why anyone would quantify the number of posts submitted by an individual who clearly enjoys expressing an opinion is beyond me

Whether or not a bus turns up is immaterial when grown men (not 18 year olds, grown men in their 30’s and 40’s) were chasing down every bus that came into the bus station with Pats Coaches on. And by chasing, I mean running out in front of them at 2pm. There were some issues with the travel arrangements, that I am aware of, but if you’re bus doesn’t turn up, you don’t run out in front of moving vehicles. Even my 6 year old was flabbergasted that they were doing it.
