Wrexham is in store for a big day of rugby league with the Wales v Australia Gillette Four Nations match at the Racecourse Stadium providing the exciting conclusion.

Wrexham’s flourishing rugby league scene will also be at the forefront ahead of the main event at the Racecourse.

The Wrexham Bradley Raiders junior rugby league club will play a training match before the big kick-off and there will also be an exhibition of touch rugby following the successful weekly activities held at Queensway.

Children from the Wrexham Bradley Raiders will also act as ball boys and girls for the main match between Wales and Australia.

Matt Pritchard, WRL’s North Wales Development Officer said: “Rugby League is developing rapidly in North Wales and we are looking to expand this across the region. Sunday’s Four Nations match between Wales and Australia at the Racecourse helps to highlight the developments out there and gain more interest for the game.

“We have put the second Level 1 UK Coaching Course in place this month and numbers have increased since last year. We have a referee course planned for the December 4th in North Wales, the Wrexham Bradley Raiders now have an under 9, 10 and 12s section with between 30 to 40 training each week and Adult Touch Rugby League continues each week at Queensway where we have over 60 players registered.

“There’s much more happening but these facts and Sunday’s events highlight just some of the work out there that we are looking to build on throughout North Wales.”

Tickets for Wales v Australia at the Racecourse on Sunday 13th November (kick-off 5.45pm) are still available, priced £10 adults and £5 concessions and can be bought by calling 01978 261337.
