Woodland Improvement Works at Moss Valley

Woodland management works at Moss Valley Country Park will start next month as part of the ongoing planned improvements within several of the borough’s country park.

Some of the poorer trees will be removed in favour of better quality trees and works will take place to improve access along the footpaths.

The tree thinning will bring about benefits to the remaining trees by giving them space to grow and enabling light to reach the forest floor benefiting both wildflowers and animals.

Wildlife too will see the benefit of the improvements as over a thousand woody shrubs are to be planted during the winter which will form an under storey beneath the thinned trees.

The cost of the work is supported by a grant from the Forestry Commission.
