North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision on the A5104 at Pontybodkin (North West out of Wrexham) which left the rider of a moped with slight injuries after he was knocked off his bike by a car whose driver left the scene without exchanging details.

The collision took place at about 10.45pm on Tuesday 14th August 2012 and investigating officer PC Andrew Pritchard of the Roads Policing Unit is eager to trace the driver of a small black car, possibly a Vauxhall Corsa that was involved. He said “I am looking to trace the driver of the small black car who I believe was a young man and who was accompanied by a young female in the front passenger seat. The car is described as unique in that it had scoops cut into the bonnet. It left the scene in the general direction of Treuddyn”.

If you know the identity of the driver, recognise the car or witnesses the collision PC Pritchard can be contacted by phoning 101 or alternatively by phoning Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
