Quadcopters Give Different Views of Wrexham

A newly released video of the local university campus gives us a good excuse to feature a few aerial videos of the town!

Glyndwr University have released the below video of an aerial tour of their Mold Road campus, recorded via a ‘drone’.

We have noticed several local residents have purchased or borrowed various drones and quadcopters, meaning that short clips of the town from above surface online. Other videos include commercial companies using quadcopters and drones for inspection work as they allow closer and quicker access to areas than more traditional methods.

In January last year an inspection company used a drone to take a look at the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, with some stunning footage being taken:

With the price dropping on smaller systems such as ‘Parrots’ and DJI Phantoms there are several shorter amateur videos of the town making their way online:



Members of the Wrexham.com team have been able to use various quadcopters and GoPro’s to capture similar videos and pictures – some of which have been kindly donated, and often stunning shots such as the one at the top and below of Erddig:
