Wrexham Community Choir will be hosting an evening of music from across the world at St Giles Parish Church at 7.30pm this Saturday 28th July.

The choir will be joined by special guests, Africa Entsha from Soweto who will be performing in Wrexham before heading to the Edinburgh Festival.

Wrexham Community Choir has gone from strength to strength since it first met in January this year with over 100 people meeting every week.

The choir is open to everyone and new members are always welcome, regardless of singing ability – from terrified singers, to seasoned singers and those in between.

There is no limit to numbers, members are aged 13 to 90 and the choir meets on alternate weeks in the Wrexham Lager Club and the Wrexham Methodist Church.

Wendy Paintsil of Wrexham Community Choir said “It has been a phenomenal few months for the choir – since we first met, the choir has not only developed in numbers but also in confidence and enthusiasm. There have been fantastic opportunities to sing at local community events including the FOCUS Wales Festival and more recently our performance last Sunday, at the last night of the Llangollen Fringe at Valle Crucis Abbey with Heal the Last Stand and Africa Entsha. We are thrilled that we are able to host our own event later this week and are delighted that Africa Entsha will be joining us.”

Africa Entsha are an a cappella group from Soweto in South Africa whose great music, inspirational harmonies and fabulous dance combine to create an irresistible performance. Their harmonies are described as mesmerising and their first appearance in Wrexham will unmissable.

Tickets are £6.00 (£4.00 concessions) and are available from @sixtyseven communications on 01978 290680 or St Giles Parish Church.
