Wrexham’s pop-up creative space Undegun will be holding a studio holder’s exhibition named ‘Ignite’ for the first time since opening in 2013 Undegun has become the home for practicing artists and a wide range of talented local people, and they will be joining up to exhibit their work as a collective within the creative space, based in the former JJB Sports shop, from February 6th 2016.

To ensure the doors are not closed for too long from the 20th January members of the public are invited in to the friendly gallery to talk to, and observe, the artists who will be creating their new work ahead of the grand opening. For a lot of the artists the work will be built on site and developed within the space, so this is a great opportunity to preview the exhibition and find out how the work progresses over time.

THIS Project have been operating the pop up arts centre for over 2 and a half years, attracting over 50,000 visitors, and feel it is time to put on this exhibition to highlight the wealth of creative talent that exists in Wrexham and the surrounding region. Undegun has 15 artists who work from the building, with work going on around the clock. This exhibition will be a great opportunity for the public to meet those artists, and get a real sense of their lives and artwork. For many of the participants the career paths to the arts and creative industries vary tremendously and being able to demonstrate to people that there are numerous avenues within the arts can be an interesting insight in to the industry.

The exhibition is all about supporting the artists that have their studios in Undegun and throughout North Wales, and how they support each other.

On the night of the launch, there will be a collective of special acts on through out the night.

Undegun is open Wednesday – Saturday 12-4pm

On the 6th February will be the launch of the exhibition
