Wrexham Swimming Club ‘Young Dragons’ Storm To 34 Medals in Holywell

17 Wrexham Swimmers travelled to Holywell on Saturday 26th October for the annual Geoff Drew Memorial Meet.

The small team of 9-13yr swimmers who train up to 5 times/week in Waterworld and Clywedog raced hard and fast and stormed to an impressive 35 x Personal Best Times and 34 x Medals – including 9 x Golds, 11 x Silver & 14 x Bronze.

Leading the way for the Boys with 2 x Golds was Simon Morris in the 100m Backstroke and 200m Individual Medley. Other Medal winner were Tyler Hughes (1 x Silver, 2 x Bronze), Xander Roberts (1 x Silver), Sam Jackson (1 x Silver) and William Griffiths (2 x Bronze).

The Girls were also stepping up, and raced to some fantastic results, first with Michaela Reynolds winning 2 x Gold (100m Breaststroke & 100m Freestyle) & 1 x Silver (100m Backstroke), then Leila Prendergast winning 2 x Gold Medals (50m Breaststroke & 50m Backstroke), Megan Owen winning Gold in the 200m Individual Medley, Lucy Thomson winning 5 x Medals (1 x Gold, 2 x Silver & 2 x Bronze) and Sadie Spencer winning 4 x Medals (1 x Gold, 1 x Silver & 2 x Bronze).

Other Medal winners for Wrexham were Olivia Price (2), Liam De Silva (4), Ffion Carter-Jones (2), Ella Oldfield (1), Katie Williams-Davies (1).
