Wrexham fans are unlikely to see any more european football nights for a while yet.

Wrexham FC will miss out on a route to being able to play European football due to a UEFA ruling today. Wrexham FC are a welsh club, however play in the english league systems. Wrexham have though played in the Welsh Cup which has as one of its prizes the chance to be entered into UEFA european competitions.

There are a total of six welsh clubs playing under the english system, and there had been doubt if the current high flyers (Swansea or Cardiff) would be able to gain access to euro football that way. UEFA has assured them that they can, in reality meaning if they win the FA Cup or finish high enough in the Premiership.

Wrexham FC entered this years Welsh Cup however without the promise of european football, which has been priced at being worth around £1 million, it is doubtful if they will continue to enter.

Its worth stating that Wrexham FC are record holders in that competition after winning it 23 times, and that the cup itself is one of the finest in world football !
