Dragons’ boss Andy Morrell has made another move in the loan market and is looking to add more strength to his defensive set up by bringing Danny Alfei back to the club.

Subject to final confirmation, the Swansea City defender will join on an Emergency Loan which would take him through until the window re-opens in January.

As with all these deals, the player will be subject to a recall clause after 28-days and he won’t be eligible for the FA Cup, but can be selected for the FA Trophy.

Dan proved to be a big hit with Wrexham fans after joining us following Curtis Obeng’s transfer to the Liberty Stadium last January.

He made his debut in the 4-1 home victory over Hayes & Yeading and despite an injury curtailing his appearances, his performances matured as he grew into the role and were highlighted in the televised game at Fleetwood.

“I’m looking forward to it,” said the right-back, who is ineligible to feature for the Dragons in the FA Cup. “I need to get a few more games under my belt and hopefully I can do that at Wrexham.

“I enjoyed my time there last season, although I didn’t play as much as I would have liked because of a hamstring and back injury. I got to know the lads well and it will be nice to see them again.

“It’s a good time to go there with them second in the league because they will all be pressure games which is great for my development.

“The Blue Square Premier is a good standard and tougher than people think, so hopefully I can learn a lot from the experience.”
