Wrexham Town Centre is to be transformed into a winter wonderland tomorrow evening – with a festive lantern parade set to pass through the town.

Tomorrow night will see Wrexham’s Christmas Lights being switched on, with a lantern parade taking place across the town centre to commemorate the occasion.

This year’s Christmas Light Switch On is a collaboration between WCBC, THIS Project, Arts Connection, Coleg Cambria, Wrexham Schools and traders across the town.

Over the past few weeks there have been lantern workshops taking place at various locations across the town; encouraging people to pop along and make their very own lanterns to feature in tomorrow evening’s parade.

The event will begin at 6pm on Queens Square and the parade will be led by Father Christmas and his reindeer. The parade will begin at Lambpit Street and make its way through the town on the following route: Lambpit Street, Chester Street, High Street, Hope Street, Argyle Arch and will finish with carols around the Christmas Tree on Queens Square.

Fortunately the weather for tomorrow evening looks set to be decent as well!

Tomorrow’s Lantern Parade signifies the start of many festive events taking place across the county borough – with Father Christmas set to arrive in his grotto in the Peoples Market on December 5th and the popular Victorian Market will return on December 10th.

More details of Christmas events taking place across Wrexham can be found here and also on the Wrexham Council website.
