Members of Wrexham’s Swimming Club are celebrating their most successful year to date, with a record number of swimmers achieving personal bests and medals.

The achievements were celebrated at the club’s AGM on Monday evening, which highlighted the continued work and efforts put in by the club’s members.

The Club is also going from strength to strength and has the most number of swimmers on its books since it started, with training at Waterworld, Clywedog and Rhosnesni pools 7 days a week.

Chairperson, Marian Williams said: “The success of the Club is down to the commitment, dedication and professionalism of the swimmers and the support they get from their parents, coaches and Club volunteers. I am so proud of their achievements over the last 12 months.”

The evening also saw the inauguration of the Club’s president, committee member of eight years, Sue Wyn Jones and the Club Captains for 2016 Neal Allen and Keeley Smith.

The Club’s most recent success came at the Swim North Wales Sub Regional Championships held in Llandudno where the Club won the The Top Team Award.

Head Coach, Craig Prime, seen holding the Top Team shield said: “This is a fantastic end to a tremendous year. I’ve seen the swimmers develop and mature and this is reflected in their attitude to training and their determination to succeed.

“This puts the Club on a strong footing going forward into 2016.”
