An annual tattoo convention showcasing the work and talent of almost 100 artists will return to the city this weekend.

The Wrexham Tattoo Show, organised by Liam Green, a tattoo artist at Wrexham Ink and has wife, Harley, is an annual convention which is now in its third year.

It will take place on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 November at the Glyndwr Sports Centre, at Wrexham University.

Almost 100 artists from across the country will be working across the weekend. They will be joined by multiple international artists, including an artist travelling from America and another from the Netherlands.

There will also be legends of the tattoo industry working at the show, including 90-year-old Doc Price who is still showcasing his skills and tattooing.

Whilst some of the artists will be fully booked for the weekend, many will be offering walk up tattoos at the show.

On Saturday and Sunday there will be a tattoo duel between two artists, with attendees deciding the winner with a public vote.

At the end of each day there will be awards presented across a range of categories for the best tattoos done at the show.

It won’t just be tattooists honing their skills over the weekend, with a barber working the show for those who need a trim whilst at the convention – along with a piercer who will be available all weekend for walk-up piercings.

Attendees will be able to enjoy live music and burlesque dancers who will entertain the crowds.

There will also various trade stalls selling everything from clothing to oddities and taxidermy; along with a bar and food vendors.

Throughout the weekend there will be raffle tickets on sale to raise money for The Counselling Hub.

The top prize on offer is a guitar which in will be signed by all of the artists working the show. There will also be four smaller prizes made up of merchandise and artwork donated by the artists at the show.

Doors open at 10am on both days and ticket holders can come and go throughout the day as they want.

Tickets cost £10 per day and children under 16 get free entry but must be accompanied by a paying adult at all times.

There is free entry to serving personnel and veterans of the armed forces on Sunday 12 November.

Tickets can be purchased from Wrexham Ink tattoo studio, on Chester Street or online here. Customers can also pay on the door at the show.
