A range of incidents and accidents have been documented in today’s policing update from the Inspector, along with a CCTV led appeal following a bike theft.

Wrexham Town policing team issued the above picture via CCTV – asking “Anyone who recognises the person in the footage is asked to contact us on 101, or via the website, using reference number 23000671184”

Police say, “They are being sought in connection with a theft of a high value silver and orange pedal bike that was taken from outside PureGym at Central Retail Park in Wrexham on Monday, July 24th.”

In the regular update from Inspector Luke Hughes references the ‘luckiest man in the world’, who lost £1000 in cash in Wrexham, but then had it recovered after staff at an unknown location reunited the individual with his bank notes.

As always, the full update from the Inspector is below…

Afternoon, midweek already. Doesn’t time fly when you are having fun… in bright and early this morning 4:30am… I maintain its the best time of the day, not just to check that the night shift are out and about… but it also allows for copious amounts of coffee and a detailed read of the previous day’s activity. I like to know things (knowledge is power) and I think that’s going to be my biggest frustration when I leave, I’ll be in the dark… so I’ll be following the Facebook feed like everyone else soon, they best make it funny…

Of course the other advantage of arriving early is a sneak peek at any overnight arrests, for us, just one. A male arrested following a disturbance on Monger Road / Hackett Court at around 10:30pm last night, did you see anything of note if you did please give us and call and quote A134874.

Beyond that a steady 24hrs as highlighted below, have a great evening all, look out for each other, we are all in this together and I think we are winning.

09:00hrs – Ellis Way – arrest of a male for recall to prison.

09:08hrs – Report of damage to a gate at a property on Fford Estyn – unknown when this occurred.

10:20hrs – Concerns for safety of an elderly female – support offered and referral made.

11:43hrs – Call from member of the public – they have a medical emergency – they call the police… so often the case at present – referred to ambulance service.

11:59hrs – The luckiest man in the world looses £1k in cash in a city centre store, a call is received that staff have found the cash and it has been returned… thank you for being so honest you are amazing people. I don’t want to know why he is walking around with £1k in case… I’m sure its totally legit… maybe he sold a car.

12:31hrs – More activity reported at the Erddig Allotments – likely occurred the same time as yesterdays report.

13:29hrs – ASB reported in the are of Craig Way – young children on a garage roof. NPT will monitor.

15:13hrs – Vehicle collides with a parked car on Crispin Lane, this is witnessed by a member of the public who follows the offending vehicle to where it is abandoned. Detailed description supplied to officers who are now working to identify. Thank you for helping.

15:20hrs – Insecure bike taken from outside a Barbers.. please… lock your bikes. You shouldn’t have to… I agree, but don’t take the chance. Especially if you are getting a wig trim and they know you can’t run after them!! If I can get a picture I will circulate. Of the bike… not the hair cut….

15:40hrs – Wine taken from a shop on Lord Street, officers intercept a male spotted by CCTV – enquiries ongoing, potentially linked to an offence on Friday last week too.

16:24hrs – Malicious call made to a business of Holt Road.

17:45hrs – Concerns for a male / medical emergency – rear of a large retailer Holt Road – support offered.

18:13hrs – Issues at Craig Way again.

19:32hrs – Concerns reported for a female in Benjamin Place – sadly officers located a female who has passed away. As mentioned previously officers frequently deal with incidents like this on behalf of the coroner – no suggestion of foul play. RIP

20:06hrs – Youths in the city centre – cctv and officers monitor – dedicated patrols this evening, an improving situation, but closely monitored.

20:56hrs – Dog on Dog bite – officers will follow up – please ensure all dogs and children are under proper control when in a public place…

22:45hrs – Monger Road arrest.

A calm night follows.

Take care all.

Luke
