Next Thursday the town centre will be lit up as the Wrexham Christmas light switch on takes place.

On November 21st in Queen’s Square the Christmas festivities will begin, as an evening of entertainment and celebrations starts the countdown to the light switch on.

The evenings events will kick off at 5:15pm, with entertainment taking place on the stage throughout the evening – building up to the big lights switch on at 7:00pm. Looking skywards, as the town centre lights up will also reveal a fantastic firework display in the skies above Wrexham.

This year the cast of Glyndwr’s University’s ‘Sleeping Beauty’ pantomime will be in attendance to switch the Christmas lights on and entertain the crowds. Stars include David Heath (X Factor Eton Road), John Cooper (SKY TV), Carly Nickson.

Music for the night will be provided by North Wales musician Kameelion, along with many more acts.

On the night there will be a hog roast, refreshments, fair ground rides and Wrexham lager will be in attendance supplying their world famous drink. Goody bags containing a Christmas What’s On Guide, vouchers and glow sticks will be given out to the crowds – so get there early to make sure you don’t miss out.

This year the event is being organised in coordination with The Foundry, Wrexham.com and Lateral Arc.

Thursday 21st also marks the start of late night shopping in the town, so it’s an ideal evening to head out hunting for some Christmas gifts.

This event is free and open to all members of the public!

Wrexham.com will also be around on the night, so if you see us pop over and say hello!
