A Wrexham businesswoman is celebrating after winning a much sought after business award by sending a single tweet.

On Sunday Joanna Kinch, Founder and Owner of KinchPrint, a small boutique garment decoration and printing business based in Wrexham entered Theo Pathitis’s Small Business Sunday awards (shortened to the hashtag #SBS) which he has run on Twitter since October 2010.

Paphitis is best known for his star role in TV’s Dragons’ Den and is also the chairman of Ryman Stationery plus Boux Avenue lingerie and joint owner of Red Letter Days

Joanna has only ever entered the #SBS awards a few times said she was staggered by the win. The tweet, as pictured above, was one of two entries by her that night; it was chosen by Theo and retweeted across the Twitter sphere to over 230,000 followers.

Joanna said she thinks her success was partly down to the cheeky chap twitter companion who is her avatar and business mascot.

Each Sunday Paphitis rewards small businesses that tweet him to @TheoPaphitis and describe their business in one tweet, including the all-important hashtag #SBS.

Only tweets made in the time slot between 5pm and 7.30pm count and each week he reviews and chooses his favourite lucky six who are then re-tweeted to over 230,000 followers, providing a massive boost to the chosen businesses.

Although not guaranteed, the benefits for winning businesses range from increased Twitter followers, to positive media publicity and the possibility of increased sales.

Joanna is a keen tweeter and runs the social media accounts for Chester & Wrexham Branch of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), (@FSB_Chester_WXM), as well as helping to organise events for members and friends of FSB Chester and Wrexham.
