An Arriva bus in Wrexham will sport a special moustache this month in support of Movember.

One bus in the borough will be fitted with a specially designed ‘bus-tache’ throughout November to show support for the charity, which aims to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and male suicide.

Posters will also be displayed on board the bus throughout the month, showing passengers how they can get involved and help raise money.

Founded in Australia in 2003 by the Movember Foundation, the Movember movement has since grown into a globally recognised charity, hosting an annual event which involves the growing of moustaches during the month of November.

The movement has raised more than £500 million over the past fifteen years, with participants from all four corners of the globe, and this year Arriva is getting on board too, with staff and even the buses themselves flashing the facial hair.

Anne-Cécile Berthier, country director UK & Europe for the Movember Foundation, said: “We are thrilled to have the support of Arriva this year. We are all about raising awareness for our cause and we’re continually evolving as a movement.

“Regardless of the city or country in which we live, we’re part of something bigger, united by a commitment to help change the face of men’s health and we’re glad that Arriva will be helping us raise awareness to its passengers across the country.’

Lisa Pearson, head of marketing for Arriva North West and Wales, said: “We are very proud to support the Movember campaign this year.

“It is a great charity which raises awareness of very important issues in a fun and entertaining way which is something we hope our ‘bus-taches’ will also achieve.”

The bustache will be available to see from 1st – 30th November, and for more information please visit https://www.arrivabus.co.uk/.
