A woman was evacuated from her house after bins outside the property were set alight.

Firefighters from Wrexham were called to the blaze in the Percy Road area late last night.

The fire spread to the porch area of the property and we’re told firefighters had to break in, wake up a resident, and evacuate the house.

A relative branded the arsonists “evil thugs” adding that someone could have been killed due to their actions.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police confirmed that no one sustained any injuries as a result of the fire and that the incident is being treated as arson.

Anyone with any information about the incident is being urged to contact North Wales Police on 101 quoting reference number X084693
