Witness Appeal Following Fatal A5 Collision

North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the A5 at Llangollen near to Maes Mawr Road junction shortly after 11pm on Friday 4th December. 

The collision involved a black Seat Leon motor vehicle and an 18-year-old female pedestrian, Katie Griffiths from the Ruabon area.

Sergeant Jane Thomas of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Just after 11pm on Friday police and other emergency services responded to the scene of a road traffic collision on the A5. A black Seat Leon was travelling from Llangollen towards Froncysyllte near to the Maes Mawr Road junction, when it collided with a female pedestrian.”

“An investigation is underway and Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision or events leading up to it to contact the Roads Policing Unit at Deeside on 101 quoting reference S185445.
