Members of the public and pet owners are being warned of toxic blue green algae which has been found at a local park.

Wrexham Council say that as usually happens during a warm summer, the algae has been detected at Acton Park lake.

The algae has been found at the lake during the summer for the past few years.

It can be toxic to humans and animals if swallowed if it comes into contact with the skin. As a result people are being urged not to enter the lake, take more care around the lake, nor to allow their pets to go into the water.
