Warning to motorbike and moped owners after series of vehicle thefts
North Wales Police are urging motorbike and moped owners to ensure that their vehicles are secured following a series of thefts.
The incidents have taken place in the Caego and Gwersyllt areas of Wrexham.
The plea from NWP Wrexham Rural comes off the back of an attempted vehicle theft in Coedpoeth.
NWP Wrexham Rural have now issued advice on how to keep your motorbike or moped secure:
- Don’t advertise the fact you’ve got a bike worth stealing
- If you must leave it outside, park it somewhere highly visible
- Make your garage super secure
- Be vigilant
- Your bike’s steering lock is your first line of defence
- Consider removing the spark plug
- Get yourself a disc lock
- Use a heavy-duty chain and ground anchor
- Have a motorcycle alarm/immobiliser fitted
- Take advantage of tracking devices and identification systems
More details can be found here. If you see any suspicious behaviour, especially around people’s vehicles, call 101 and report it to North Wales Police.
