People are being warned that “if it’s too good to be true, it is” after reports of a man selling perfume from a bag in the town centre.

At 11:30am on Wednesday 9 June North Wales Police were alerted to a male apparently selling perfume from a bag in the town centre.

Officers attended and recovered a number of bottles of what appeared to be counterfeit perfume.

Wrexham town inspector Luke Hughes said: “Anecdotal information suggests that persons using perfume bought locally have experienced discomfort and a burning sensation when using the perfume.

“My advice is simple, if it’s too good to be true, it is. What you are buying is either fake or stolen.

“Please do not take a risk that could damage your health or your wallet.”
