A road is partially blocked and train services have been delayed after a lorry struck a bridge just outside Wrexham.

The collision took place at the Cefn-y-bedd railway bridge, near B5102 Llay Road shortly after 4:30pm this afternoon.

The incident is the second of its kind to have taken place today, with a lorry colliding with a bridge in Penyffordd earlier this afternoon.

As a result of the collision the A541 Wrexham Road is partially blocked, with slow traffic building in the area.

Rail services between Wrexham and Bidston had just returned to normal after the earlier incident, however services have now been delayed again following the new collision.
