Town Grinds To Halt Due To Central Rd Crash

Two vehicles were involved in a collision on Central Road by the Central Retail park earlier this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to a collision involving a Ford Focus and a Vauxhall Astra at 4:32pm.

Traffic was gridlocked on Grosvenor Road through to Regent Street, Watery Road and surrounding roads.

Likewise in unconnected road issues the A483 southbound was backed up as far back as Gresford Roundabout towards the B&Q exit.

In relation to the bypass crawl southbound the Council have said it is due to “Essential highway safety works due to finish today. Weather hasn’t helped with delays and we apologise for any inconvenience.”
