Road reopens after car hits lamp post

UPDATE: The road has reopened and traffic has returned to normal following the earlier crash.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police confirmed that the incident was a single vehicle collision with minor injuries.

ORIGINAL: Emergency services are on the scene of an incident this morning.

A car has hit a lamp post on the corner of Chester Road and Powell Road close to St John’s Hostel.

Update: Police have said, “Please be aware that there will be heavy traffic leading up to the Chester Road roundabout in Wrexham. Officers are at scene and dealing.”

Wrexham CCTV tell us their monitoring shows large queues building on nearby roads due to the crash.
