A number of flowerbeds across Wrexham town centre were vandalised overnight.

Laura Harper tweeted Wrexham.com the above photo earlier this morning showing the damage caused to six flowerbeds on Queens Square. Other flowerbeds in the town were also vandalised, including those near QD Stores.

The flowerbeds themselves had been tipped upside down, causing the plants to fall out or smash on the floor. However the flowerbeds were tidied up and repotted by Streetscene at around 7am this morning..

A number of people took to Twitter shortly after the picture was tweeted to express their reaction to the incident.

Laura Harper said: “It’s disgusting when people have no respect for their own town. I felt like clearing it all up!”

Sam Evans tweeted: “Obviously likes the idiot perpetrators life’s. Upside down & messed up ! Sad reflection of some aspects of Wrexham.”

Another person added: “People moan the town’s a dump and they try to do something, good yet there’s always idiots out to ruin it.”

Wrexham Council tweeted the below picture of the replanted flowerbeds on Queens Square just before midday.

A spokesperson for Wrexham Council said: “We’re disappointed that someone would choose to vandalise the town centre in this manner. Our Streetscene team responded quickly by clearing and re-planting the beds and we would like to thank them for their efforts.”
