Thousands of women in Wrexham joined forces yesterday to run, jog, walk and dance to raise money for Cancer Research.

Women and girls (and a few pets in tutus!) gathered to take part in Cancer Research’s annual Race For Life at Alyn Waters Country Park.

Despite the forecast of scattered showers, the rain held off and the sun shone for the 5k event. Alyn Waters was a sea of pink, with women of all ages joining together with the same goal – to help beat cancer.

We popped down to the event, with one of us taking part in the race. It’s safe to say that spirits and emotions were high – however the mood was one of positivity and determination.

The event began with a crowd warm up and music from Heart – not to mention a few crowd selfies. Heart also revealed that over £80,000 had been raised by the day’s participants.

Along with this, Jordan Percival, who was the guest of honour told the crowds her story and experiences with cancer. Jordan, who is now in remission was diagnosed with lymphoma just before her 21st birthday.

Addressing the crowds, Jordan spoke of her own diagnosis and experiences, before encouraging everyone to join forces and best cancer.

Below are just some of the pictures you tweeted to us yesterday – and congratulations from Wrexham.com to all those who took part in the event. If you took part yesterday, then email your pics to [email protected] and we will add them into the gallery.
