Wrexham city centre was full of festive cheer today with the return of the Victorian Christmas Market.

A key fixture in the city’s events calendar, thousands of people visited throughout the day to soak up the atmosphere, shop and try out some traditional fairground games.

The market was the first for a few years that was not affected either by pandemic restrictions or horrendous weather.

Over 100 stalls lined the streets from St Giles up to Queens Square, selling everything from Christmas wreaths, decorations, pies, doughnuts, cakes, chutneys and pickles, hotdogs and of course – mulled wine and cider.

Today’s event was the second of the city’s ‘Mega Market week’, with four more scheduled to take place over coming the days.

Also taking place this week is the Coleg Cambria, Christmas Market, December 6-8, Christmas Makers’ Market, Ty Pawb, December 10
Wrexham Street Market, Henblas Street, December 10 and the Wrexham Winter Festival & Christmas Market, Queen’s Square, December 10-11.
