Thousands gathered at the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct last night for an evening of live entertainment and a spectacular visual display.

Many Wrexhamites will be aware of the Underneath the Arches music and light spectacle which takes place at the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct every July. Over the past few years the event has become a staple part of the calendar in Wrexham, attracting thousands of visitors each year.

Throughout the night live entertainment was provided and small fairground rides. As with previous Underneath the Arches events, visitors were encouraged to bring a picnic, chairs and to sit back and enjoy the evening. Luckily the rain that was forecast for the night wasn’t too bad either!

The event culminated with a spectacular firework display and the lighting up of the arches in some stunning colours.

The response to last night’s has been vastly positive, with many attendees taking to social media to praise what has been described as a brilliant night and enjoyed by all (Thanks to Jason Cunningham for sending us the image featured above!)
