An 18-year-old man has been charged with the theft of a moped and driving offences following an incident in the Caia Park area yesterday.

The bike was stolen from Cefn Road, Caia Park in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

It was then sighted being driven by several youths on ‘The Dunks’ before a male was detained and subsequently charged.

Town District Inspector Simon Kneale said: “We have built excellent community contacts who can identify those responsible and anyone seen to be involved with stolen vehicles can expect to be arrested.

“We will be running a Police Operation in the area with the use of several tactics, including off road Police bikes. The owners of these bikes rely on them as transport to attend places of work and carry out their everyday lives.

“It is not acceptable that a small minority feel it is appropriate to steal these vehicles without any consideration for the effect it may have on a persons life.”

Anybody with any further information about the incident is urged to contact North Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111.
