Fan of traditional sweets, American Candy and ice cream? You’re in luck! A brand new sweet shop has opened in Wrexham Town Centre.

Located on the corner between Henblas Street and Chester Street, independent retailer, ‘Sweet Gift Boutique’ is now open for business!

Run by Jayne Brindley, who after being a childminder for 15 years – decided to take a new career path, with ‘Sweet Gift Boutique’ opening its doors to the public on April 6th.

For those with a sweet-tooth a trip to the new store is a must, specialising in everyone’s favourite traditional sweets – with everything from sherbet saucers, floral gums, sugar mice and liquorice all sorts (we personally opted for the sherbet saucers and blackberry and apple sweets when we paid a visit yesterday!)

Along with sweets and chocolate, the store also specialises in ice creams, Welsh souvenirs, retro mugs / bags, plus a special soap and bath bomb range.

For those big on American Candy there is also a dedicated section full of tasty treats such as Cookie Dough, Reece’s Peanut Butter and Wonka’s Nerds

For those running events in the local area, there is also the chance to rent a whole host of items from Sweet Gift Boutique – including popcorn machines and candy floss machines.

Speaking to Wrexham.com, Jayne’s partner David Hughes said: “She loves kids and sweets so I thought a shop would be a nice environment for her. My Dad Alun Hughes has had record shops in Wrexham for 40 years, most recently on bank street.

“I was a little tired of people putting the town down and how shops are closing right, left and centre, so think it will be a nice challenge.

“So far in the first few days we’ve doubled our estimated figure but obviously it’s early days yet.”

More information on Sweet Gift Boutique can be found on their Facebook Page and website.
