Summery Weather to Come to Abrupt End With Weather Warning Issued
Wrexham’s summery spell is set to come to an abrupt end this weekend, with ‘unseasonably strong winds’ and rain set to hit the area.
Summer finally returned in Wrexham this week, however its return is set to be short lived with the Met Office issuing a yellow weather warning for much of north Wales on Saturday.
While Wrexham should escape the worst of the weather, heavy rain is expected throughout the early hours of the morning and the afternoon.
For those planning a trip up the coast this weekend the forecast is looking slightly worse, with gusts of up to 50mph expected to hit the area.
The Met Office state that the weather warning has been put in place due to ‘a spell of unseasonably strong southwesterly winds, accompanied by heavy, blustery showers’ which is expected to hit the southwest of the UK during the early hour.
It is expected that the blustery showers will start to make their way across many parts of England and Wales throughout the day.
The Chief Forecaster’s Assessment of the weather warning states: “A vigorous area of low pressure is expected to track eastwards cross the northern half of the UK on Saturday. Strengthening winds on its southern flank will reach southwestern areas of the UK early on Saturday.
“The peak in wind strength will be across southwest England and south Wales during the morning, then extending eastwards through the course of the day. Inland areas will have the strongest winds during Saturday afternoon, when localised gusts of 50 mph are possible, particularly in association with showers.”
