An appeal for witnesses has been made after an incident on the bypass yesterday afternoon that cut short a holiday trip before it had really begun.

Update: We have been sent the below video…

One family member has said, “Does anyone know the name of the scaffolding company or get the registration of their vehicle that was losing its load, and had pulled over to secure it near sliproad of junction 6, of the A483 southbound around 3pm” – yesterday, Saturday 1st June.

The incident caused ‘considerable damage to our car’ which is now at a recovery centre for assessment.

Due to the incident it caused ‘the shortest family holiday ever’ with serious damage to the car thwarting a trip away for the family as it was left undriveable.

Police attended the incident and the family were moved from the carriageway to safety, and the car was later recovered.

The family then returned home in a taxi along with their holiday bags.

We are told several cars pulled over to check for damage due to the incident, and anyone with any information or dashcam footage is asked to call police on 101 or via the webchat facility citing incident reference X075658
