The Halton Roundabout reopened this evening after an overturned lorry resulted in the closure of the road for over ten hours.

Just before 9am this morning emergency services were called to the A5 Chirk / Halton Roundabout following reports that a lorry had overturned.

As a result of the incident the A5 northbound was blocked / closed off while emergency services attended the scene.

Traffic in and around the Chirk area has been heavy all day as a result of the incident, with queues often going past the Wales / England border.

Recovery work removing the vehicle has been taking place throughout the day and both lanes of the A5 reopened at around 7:15pm this evening.
