Wrexham residents are being encouraged to dress up in pink and take part in a charity’s flagship fundraiser.

This Friday (23rd October) is Wear it Pink day, an annual fundraising event aimed at encouraging individuals, groups, co-workers and families to wear something pink and donate to support breast cancer research.

Wrexham’s Assembly Member Lesley Griffiths is showing her support for the charity’s campaign by taking part along with her members of staff.

Wear it Pink is Breast Cancer Now’s largest fundraising event, last year raising over £2 million.

Ms Griffiths said: “Every year around 2,600 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in Wales, and sadly, nearly 600 people still lose their lives to the disease.”

“Fundraising events like Wear it Pink are a great way for people to get involved and help raise valuable funds for Breast Cancer Now’s life-saving research.”

“I hope many Wrexham residents will join me in taking part on Friday. Whether you’re in school, at work or at home, all you have to do is wear something pink and donate whatever you can.”
