The Annual Service of Remembrance took place at the Royal Welch Fusiliers Memorial in town this morning.

The service began just before 11am, with the parade leaving at 10:30am from the Hightown Barracks through town to Bodhyfryd.

There was a large turn out with the weather just about holding off from rain.

During the service the parade was called to attention, while Karl Parker representing Ysgol Rhiwabon read: “They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them”.

Karl’s mother tweeted us a video she took of this moment:

The service was officiated by the Right Reverend Peter M Brignall, Bishop of Wrexham and Reverend Dr Jason Bray, Vicar of St Giles’ Wrexham.
