Plants and parched gardens across Wrexham could be in for a treat this later this week, with rain and the risk of thunderstorms on the forecast this Friday.

The Met Office have put a yellow weather warning in place for heavy rain across Wales and southwesterly parts of England between 11am and 8pm on Friday 13th.

Details released today by the Met Office state: “Heavy showers, which will most likely become thundery in places, are expected to develop quite widely across parts of England and Wales later Friday morning and through the afternoon.

“Some of the showers are likely to become focussed into slow-moving bands, particularly over southwest England, with some locations receiving around 20mm in an hour.”

There is also rain forecast for Thursday, giving those now yellowish gardens a bit of a watering!

It has been a record breaking summer in some places, however those looking for a reprieve from the warm weather will have to wait a bit longer for temperatures to drop, with forecasts indicating it will still be a relatively warm 22C.

However there is good news for anyone struggling to sleep in the hot weather, as it it will be a somewhat cooler 14C overnight.
