Statistics given to the Town Centre Forum yesterday from North Wales Police revealed that some crime figures in the town centre are down, but one set of stats is up.

Unlike last month there have been no ‘major incidents’, with last months meeting drawing particular emphasis on the ‘lads on roof’. An update was given on those arrested for being on the roof they are both still on remand.

The shoplifting figures were down 9.7% year on year, with 84 shoplifting offences committed. This is down on the 93 from the equivalent month last year.

The figures of violence with injury have also decreased, and are 15% lower than they were 12 months ago. This is down to 17 recorded crimes compared to the 20 crimes committed last year.

However there has been a 13% increase in the level of criminal damage in the town centre, with 21 instances taking place in the last month. This is compared to the nine incidents that took place at the same time last year.
