Police confirm man charged with murder in Gwersyllt investigation

Detectives investigating the death of 52-year-old Antony Gerald Derwent at his home in Wheat Close, Gwersyllt on Sunday morning have charged a man with his murder.

North Wales Police say that Matthew Hardy (36) of Gwersyllt will appear before Magistrates today.

Detective Superintendent Chris Bell said: “I would like to thank the local community for all their co-operation, as well as the information they have provided to date.

“Our investigation continues, and I would ask if anyone has any information that could assist us.

“I am particularly interested to hear from any witnesses who have knowledge of who has attended 29 Wheat Close, Gwersyllt between 1900 hrs on Saturday 6 April through to the early hours of Sunday the 7 of April to get in touch with the investigation team, via our live webchat online or on 101.”
