Plans to Partially Convert Town Centre Bar into Flat Set For Approval
A town centre pub could be partially converted into three flats looks set to be approved by councillors next week.
In an application due to go before Wrexham’s Planning Committee it has been recommended that plans to partially convert a bar / restaurant in the town centre into self contained apartments.
Back in August Wrexham.com reported that plans had been submitted to partially convert Arnold’s Bar and Grill on Egerton Street into two bedsits and one flat.
The application consists of converting a section of the building into three studio apartments, with the remainder of the floorspace being used to operate as a bar – but in a far smaller capacity than what is currently available.
Within the planning report is states that ‘the bedsits and flat will have their own external entrance doors to outdoors, to allow some separation from the rest of the ground floor area, which is used for a Class A3 use (hot food and drink), which is currently a public house’.
The application will go before Wrexham’s Planning Committee on Monday 7th December at 4pm. For those who can’t make the meeting, it will be webcast on the Wrexham Council website.
