Eighteen new flats could be built in Wrexham city centre as part of new plans submitted to Wrexham Council.

An application has been put forward to convert office space on the floors above 8-12 Priory Street, into self-contained flats.

As part of the plans two new vertical storeys would be added to the building to allow for the 18 new dwellings to be created.

Proposals submitted to the local authority show that the current commercial usage on the ground floors of 8-12 Priory Street would be unaffected.

However existing space at the ‘Priory Offices’ on the ground floor would be turned into one flat and new communal space for residents.

Plans show offices on the first and second floors would each be converted into five new flats across the two floors, with the existing access points retained.

The new third floor, which would be added to the building if plans are approved, would consist of four flats.

This would be replicated on the fourth floor.

Plans for all the flats include one double bedroom, bathroom and an open plan kitchen, living and dining space.

The application will be considered for approval by Wrexham Council at a later date.
