Tree planting, outdoor dining space and new street feature are just some of the ambitious plans to regenerate Wrexham’s High Street.

The proposals, which also include works to Town Hill, aim to enhance the street’s potential for events, street markets and cafe culture, while complementing the historic listed buildings in the area.

It is also hoped the new outdoor seating areas – for hospitality venue – and new street furniture will improve the area for the public and businesses.

Plans include trees and shrubs planted down High Street and Town Hill, similar to other towns and cities across the UK.

Changes to the streetscene which would make the entire road a single level with roadways marked out in different tarmac, are also proposed.

Wrexham Council have confirmed that a series of consultation events will take place over the coming weeks where members of the public can have their say on the plans. These will take place on:

“We’re here to answer your questions and listen to any concerns or ideas you might have, and your views will help inform the project as it moves forward.
