Directors of the old GHA Coaches company that recently collapsed are looking to provide bus services to the area via two of their other companies.

Arwyn Lloyd Davies, and Gareth Lloyd Davies both from Corwen are listed as Directors of GHA Coaches on Companies House, both are also listed as Directors of RJ’s of Wem Limited.

GHA Coaches had the registered office of Unit 11 Vauxhall Industrial Estate, Ruabon. RJ’s of Wem Limited have the registered office of Unit 10 Vauxhall Industrial Estate, Ruabon.

RML2418 Limited, which has a registered office of Unit 10 Vauxhall Industrial Estate, Ruabon has Arwyn Lloyd Davies, and Gareth Lloyd Davies from Corwen listed as Directors.

The Office of the Traffic commissioner indicates RML 2418 Limited has three vehicles and also trades as the Shropshire Bus & Coach company. The same trading name is shared with RJ’s of Wem Limited, and they are listed as having four vehicles.

Earlier today we asked Wrexham Council if they were aware of the connection and had any concerns.

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “We were aware of the interests of the companies through the tendering process.

“As with all tenders, there is a procurement procedure to follow, and this will be subject to all statutory procedures.

“They will both also also need approval from the office of the Traffic Commissioner.”

UPDATE: The BBC are reporting this evening that the contracts have already been awarded by Wrexham Council, subject to Traffic Commissioner approval.

The BBC say: “Now it has been revealed GHA’s former directors, Arwyn Lloyd Davies and his brother Gareth, are involved in two companies which have won contracts from Wrexham council to run eight former services in the county borough.
