The ongoing growth of a Wrexham-based sports equipment retailer has seen it hire enough new staff in the last two months to fill more than an entire football team and subs – however it’s still looking for additional recruits.

Net World Sports, which is based on Wrexham Industrial Estate, has hired 19 ‘new signings’ since February 2017, bringing the total number of people employed by the firm to 74.

Dan Beckley, Eric Jones and Emma Barnes have joined the company’s sales team, while customer care has been boosted by the arrivals of Adam Jones, Alana Williams, Alex Williamson, Grant Spenser, Jessica Ellson and Rachel Wedley.

Website developers Sruthy Ramesh and Aaron Durban have joined the technical team, with Frazer Evans joining marketing as Junior Graphic Designer and Rhys Owen-Johnson and Sarah Draycott both recruited for the role of Web Content Editor. The firm’s busy warehouse has been strengthened too with the additions of five new faces in Daniel Bishop, Luke Hughes, Mark Bailey, Andrew Matthews, and Peter Hope.

Despite the numerous new faces joining the firm this year, Net World Sports is still recruiting for a similar number of additional exciting roles, from paid search manager, paid search assistant, and photographer in its marketing department. Along with positions in its sales, customer care, finance, HR and warehouse teams.

The company’s ongoing recruitment round comes on the back of a successful period for the company, which sells more than 100,000 football goals a year, the majority of which are its own-brand FORZA range.

Founded in 2009 the Net World Sports was recently ranked number 45 in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 league table of the UK’s fastest-growing privately-owned businesses – the second-fastest growing firm in Wales on the list.

It was also placed in 43rd position on the annual Sunday Times Lloyds SME Export Track 100 run-down of businesses with the best international sales, the only North Wales-based company to feature, and 66th on the Sunday Times BDO Profit Track 100 list of companies with the fastest-growing profits over the last three years, a hat-trick even Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo would be proud of.

At the start of the year, Net World Sports also finalised the multi-million pound purchase of its Wrexham home, nearly trebling office and warehouse space from 50,000 square feet to 120,000 square feet.

Alex Lovén, Managing Director of Net World Sports, said: “Our fantastic people are the main reason why we as a business have accomplished so much, but we have no intention of slowing down and have ambitious plans for even greater growth in the months and years to come. All the recent and upcoming additions to our team will have a vital part to play as we take the business onto the next level.

“The vast majority of our core senior team have worked their way up and progressed through the business, and that’s the sort of opportunity all our new starters will get too. If they’ve got similar passion and drive as the people they’ll be working with, they’ll be able to make their mark extremely quickly at one of the fastest-growing businesses around.”
